A practical comparison for travellers choosing between Milan's two principal airports.
Linate is closer to the city. Malpensa carries the long-haul traffic. Most travellers do not actually choose — their itinerary chooses for them. But when there is a choice, a few things matter.
Linate sits ten minutes from the centre. Arrivals here feel almost domestic: small terminal, quiet corridors, fast exits. Most European business travellers prefer it for that reason.
Malpensa is forty-five minutes out. The advantage is a wider international network and full long-haul service. The disadvantage is the road in — particularly on Friday afternoons.
Whichever airport, the transfer protocol is the same: chauffeur inside, luggage handled, departure within fifteen minutes of meeting.
